“Working with a small team is very versatile. We take care of ad placements, the website, press releases, newsletters and social-media-activities, we organize press tests, exhibition appearances such as events and we are responsible for the design of flyers and print campaigns”, he explains. “I have been interested in marketing and media since I’ve been a teenager and started trying several things in the online field at a young age. Being able to use it in a professional way by now is even more rewarding.”
Just like many other employees at ABT Sportsline, Roland Hörmann also is closely connected to motor sports: He has been responsible for the digital communication and marketing measures of DTM as the new-media-manager of the DTM-marketer ITR e. V. for several years. “At that time I got to now the ‘Äbte’ as well”, he reports. Meanwhile he likes to join the races as a visitor to meet former colleagues and socialize but “professionally I am more active in the field of vehicle customizing by now.”
Hörmann also is a car-nerd in his spare time. The used Golf GTI he bought six years ago ironically was Daniel Abt’s first car. “Meanwhile I handed the car over to my brother”, Hörmann says with a smile. Lately he was driving an ABT RS3, a vehicle that he is totally excited about: “the 500 HP enable some brutal powers. This one truly is an awesome car”.
Additionally, Roland Hörmann also likes to spend his spare time in a sporty way. “I’ve been an active soccer player for many years but meanwhile I played my farewell game. We’ll see if it stays like that… Except for that I keep myself fit by walking and hiking.” But the things he loves to do most in his spare time are travelling and photographing – two hobbies that can be interconnected very well.
