Last year, the new Audi A6 and A7 as well as the VW Touareg III appeared on the scene as a highly attractive premium trio. The 3.0 TDI, which has 286 HP (210 kW) as a production model, turns these desirable cars into the "three muscleteers". With the exception of the planned Touareg V8 TDI, the engine is the strongest diesel engine in the range and the perfect choice for dynamic driving on long journeys. The ABT Power upgrade, based on the auxiliary ABT Engine Control (AEC) unit, offers even more performance: It reaches 330 HP (243 kW) across the board. The torque in the two Audis increases from 620 to 670 Nm, while the VW Touareg jumps from 600 to 650 Nm.

"Many of our customers want something beyond the 300 HP threshold, which also has a psychological aspect," explains CEO Hans-Jürgen Abt. The AEC, specially developed by the Bavarian tuner, provides maximum reliability and optimum power delivery. This is ensured by complex calibration runs on the chassis dynamometer and on public roads as well as comprehensive measures for engine protection and extensive warranties.

But ABT Sportsline does not just make the Audi A6, A7 and VW Touareg faster, it also gives the cars a more dynamic look. The world's largest tuner for Volkswagen and Audi vehicles offers an exciting selection of rims for all three as part of its extensive range: There is a lot more to discover in the company's configurator, though.

The Bavarian experts are currently sprucing up an A6 Avant 3.0 TDI to be presented at the Geneva International Motor Show from March 7 to 17, 2019 – hall 1, booth 1244. The glacier-white vehicle is fitted with the 9.5 x 21 inch ABT FR rims in mystic black, with the corresponding 255/35 R21 tires from partner Continental. An extensive aero package is also installed: It includes the ABT front spoiler with a glossy black air inlet panel, the ABT rear skirt set featuring a diffusor in the same color and matt black tailpipe trims as the distinguishing features of the speedy station wagon. With its mighty torque and plenty of horsepower, it is a joy to drive even on Swiss freeways with strict speed limits – because the true experience here is the acceleration. 100 km/h, for example, can be reached in just 5.5 seconds – around two tenths earlier than with the production version. The Audi A7 achieves the same head start, while the VW Touareg also gets about two tenths faster: It now sprints from zero to 100 km/h in 5.9 instead of 6.1 seconds.
