ABT Liquid

The Indirect Water/EthanolInjection (IWI) before the two throttle valves can increase the power output to up to 1,000 HP (736 kW) and approx. 1,150 Nm*, depending on the fuel used and the data version of the AEC.

The ABT IWI-Liquid is stored in a separate tank in the boot of the vehicle (the on-board tool and tyre puncture kit originally placed in the trunk is now located in an ABT bag stowed to the left in the boot). The liquid is a non-flammable fuel that uses denatured, organically produced ethanol.

The filler neck for filling the system is located under the fuel filler flap.
The usable volume of the IWI tank is approximately 15 litres. The tank level is monitored using a level sensor and displayed in the myABT app or in the MMI via Apple CarPlay. When the tank is empty, it should be filled with at least 5 litres in order to return the system to operation. Once the IWI tank is empty, this does not affect the everyday performance of your vehicle. You can continue to drive with your basic performance level,

Consumption

Consumption of the ABT IWI liquid is very much dependent on the individual use of the additional torque and power.

Moderate driving with the IWI system:

In a “best case scenario”, the range of the IWI tank is about 3,000 km, i.e. consumption of 0.5l/100 km, which corresponds to about 6 fuel tank fills, using about 15l/100 km of fuel.

Intense driving with lots of full acceleration with the IWI system:

In a “worst case scenario”, the range of the IWI tank is about 700 km, i.e. consumption of 4l/100 km, which corresponds to about 3-4 fuel tank fills.
