“It was once again a great DTM season finale,” said ABT Motorsport Director Martin Tomczyk. “Hockenheim is always good for excitement, but it hasn’t been this exciting in a long time with the title decision coming down to the last three corners. Congratulations to Ayhancan Güven and the Manthey team on winning the championship! It was also a conciliatory end for us. We were able to finish in the top ten on both days and collect points. We made good progress in our first season with Lamborghini and can now go into the winter break with a good feeling and start preparing for next year. It was a tough season for us. But anyone who knows ABT Sportsline knows that we will be back in our usual strength in 2026.”
“It was a positive finish with a strong final race,” said Mirko Bortolotti, who scored a total of 14 points with eleventh and seventh places at Hockenheim. “We drove our own race and tried to stay completely out of the title race. Everyone in the team worked hard and did a good job throughout the weekend. Of course, 2026 was not our year and the final result was not what we all hoped for or wanted. But it was still a very important year for the team in terms of learning for the future.”
“It’s a privilege to be able to take part in such a finale in front of such a great crowd,” said Nicki Thiim. “Saturday started badly for me but ended really well with a drive in the rain from 23rd to eighth. Unfortunately, I lacked a bit of pace in the dry. The final was a reflection of my season: we weren’t good in qualifying but most of the time managed to gain positions in the races – also thanks good strategy calls. It was a learning year for the team with a new car and a new manufacturer. Even though things didn't go so well, the atmosphere was always good – that also says a lot about this team. It’s an honour to drive for ABT in the DTM. Thanks to everyone in the team for their good work, also to everyone back home in Kempten.”
